Autism Awareness Week – 29th March – 4th April 2021

This week is Autism Awareness Week, and to help celebrate this, we thought it was best to help collate some useful articles and tools from experts in the field that we feel are worth reading and watching to expand your knowledge:

  • The National Autistic Society’s 5 things everyone should know – this article is a great starting point with 5 things about autism that autistic people and families say are most important to them and practical tips for supporting autistic people in everyday life, be that socially, at school or work.
  • Ambitious about Autism’s World Autism Awareness Week’s video content – a number of videos that help to explain what autism is in more detail; what having meltdowns and shutdowns feel like and what stimming is and why it’s important.
  • The National Autistic Society’s World Autism Awareness Week Quiz – an equally useful activity for children and adults to help test your knowledge and improve understanding of autism, from famous autistic people to facts and useful exercises to increase your education.
  • The CIPD’s Guide to Neurodiversity at work – a great guide that takes you through understanding neurodiversity, why it matters and common thinking styles and then practical tips to build an inclusive, neurodiverse workplace.

At e2e we're extremely proud of our neurodiversity programme in partnership with @TheIASMEConsortium and the focus we have on actively employing people with different ways of thinking.

Not only is it the right thing to do to help people who often struggle with conventional workplace environments, but it also makes excellent business sense to have a diverse workforce helping us to detect and respond to cyber security threats and incidents. You can find out more about e2e-engage here.
